Its budget was only $70M. It's not a blockbuster but hardly a flop like Ghostbusters was.

It appears to have done moderate to reasonable business around the globe. It has tripled it's $70mill budget, which was I suppose is an average for a big name Hollywood film. If it racked in less than $150.00mill, then I guess it could be considered a flop. We don't even know how accurate the budget sources are either and if there is manipulation and agenda involved.

Used to be 100 million was a huge success.
Nowadays even a piece of crap makes a billion. That amazes me.
There are that many people around the world willing to PAY to watch a piece of crap that I wouldn't even download for FREE. (waste of bandwidth)
I figure it's gotta be young people looking for something to do, any old excuse to go out on a date. Because that's really what movies are for - dating.
Nobody with half a brain actually WANTS to go "to the movies" and sit around with a bunch of smelly, noisy people blabbing on their cell phones. Not when
I got a 60in flat screen at home with surround sound that I can pause whenever I want to get food, go to the bathroom, sip some whiskey or spark a nice doobie
to enjoy the film. No way.
Gotta be kids needing an excuse to ask some girl out on a date.

I hope this doesn't put a damper on plans for the other spinoff, Ocean's Caribbean Queen.

It’s making more money than the Ghostbusters reboot. That should be considered good enough.

Why should people be talking about it? Some people actually have lives and don't care about how much money some rich businessmen who don't know you exit are making.

To "bomb" would be to lose money. Your figures show a healthy profit with box office around 3.5 times the budget.
If you follow box office, you might want to strive for accuracy? Just a thought.

Never seen it.
Did see the billions of ads for it in NYC, though.

Blade Runner 20 whatever was far more of a flop But like the first movie, it has cultural significance and will age well like good good wine. Ocean 8 is dreck.

It was a decent fun afternoon matinee at the discount theater. Some good performances appropriate to the tone of the picture. A few decent chuckles from the script ("You had better be in there" Debbie Ocean says to the crypt of her brother, Danny. Also, her pep talk to her team, “Somewhere out there an eight year old girl is lying in bed dreaming of becoming a criminal. Let’s do this for her”). Not a bad little throwaway flick. I'm glad it was financially successful.
