Because even though though the story is too difficult for me to understand it's enjoyable. I'd prefer some movies that are similar to the long goodbye that came out after 1970 ok?

Chinatown L.A. Confidential The Drowning Pool Night Moves Angel Heart Farewell, My Lovely The Conversation
If you're willing to go before 1970, The Big Sleep (1946) and Marlowe (1969) feature the same detective character (Philip Marlowe), and both movies are based on Raymond Chandler novels, like The Long Goodbye was.

My second viewing made a huge difference. Give it another try, and I'm sure you'll appreciate it a lot more, making it extra enjoyable.
You might like "Fat City" directed by John Huston, starring Stacy Keach, in one of the best performances, including a young Jeff Bridges.
