Just saying. Though I doubt JJ would undo his own doing. But they could bring him back if they wanted. They're not going to do it. And they're not going to bring back Luke either. All of this was about getting them out of Rey's way so she doesn't share the spotlight with anyone. They surely aren't going to bring them back now.

But if they undo his doing what do they do?

If Darth Maul can be alive, so can he.

While I'd love to have Han back (flashbacks, Force-ghost, etc.), I feel like that is only ever going to happen in the realm of Fan-fiction.

I can see how maybe they could bring back Luke. MAYBE. A very BIG maybe! But Han?
I know the issue of Darth Maul has already come up in this thread, BUT... Darth Maul was a force user. We don't know what kind of dark side Sith force powers he might have had that they haven't told us about. We don't know what regenerative abilities his alien species might have? And even in the Clone Wars cartoon, where they brought him back, they glossed over the part of how he survived. When we first see him he's already alive again with a mechanical lower half. I even doubt anyone at Lucasfilm actually knows! "He's alive! Good enough! Next!"
Han doesn't have any of those advantages. Han is a regular human, an old man, who took a lightsaber through the heart and a really long fall into an energy pit of some kind. Even in SW that's got to mean dead.
Han doesn't have the advantages Maul has. Period.

My thinking was that if Darth Maul could be cut in half and brought back to life, it's not impossible that Han could have been saved somehow. LOL! You answered too soon... Here's my response:

Harrison Ford wanted his character to get killed off.

Just saying. Though I doubt JJ would undo his own doing. But they could bring him back if they wanted. I would have a MUUUUUCH easier time believing Luke can come back than Han. I know its a sci-fi movie, but Han got stabbed in the chest and took a mad long fall. While Luke is a force user and only disappeared.
Sure, IF THEY WANTED, the could do anything. But would it be viable? I mean it would be the height of camp if Harrison Ford suddenly showed up as a cyborg or something.
Better to leave him dead, and maybe use the force to explain Luke coming back.
(and before you say it, I know, Darth Maul came back, but he's a force using alien.)

If Darth Maul can be alive, so can he. Maul is dead in my head canon. Bringing back dead characters with some weak excuse about how they survived is terrible, imo.

Even if they are female and/or minority characters? Wouldn't leaving them dead not be admitting how much you sexually and racially hate them?
