I have often wondered that too and think it is 'cause some people just don't like music in general (as hard as that may be to believe) and they just turn the radio on for the sake of listening to anything.

Because they’re ignorant. They don’t know anything else. They think that if something is playing on the radio then it must be the best music has to offer. “This song’s always playing on the radio therefore it must be one of the best songs” “I’ve never listened to this song, but it doesn’t get any airplay so it must be shit” It’s really sad. Sad indeed.

It's their loss, but it certainly doesn't bother me that people still do it. It should bother you if you care about the future of our species. Do you want the next generation to be tasteless fools?

I think they like music, they just don't care about it enough to learn more about it or seek better music out. That pretty much describes me.

Caesar RobertoHopefully, you do realize that there are MANY stations on the radio including PUBLIC RADIO that play a great variety of music! Don't see why listening to the radio means that the listener is any less than someone listening by any other means.

How should I be listening to my music?
Most of the time I listen is when I'm driving, so it's radio or my cds.

Because they like it probably....... Also why care about what kind of music people listen to ? Because I love [good] music and care about it's future and the future of our species?

Don't see why listening to the radio means that the listener is any less than someone listening by any other means. My mistake. I meant pop stations specifically. Not the radio in general. I will edit the thread title to fix my error. But not everywhere has a large variety of radio stations. Believe it or not there are some areas that don't have many or any good radio stations and play mainly garbage pop.
