Was there ever a time that this happened? I could swear to it, but I find no evidence online. Everyone knows Doritos back in the 70's and early 80's were Nacho Cheese in the red bag, and Taco in the orange bag. Was there also a non-flavored version in a yellow bag? Or was I just a kid and thought that would be sensible?

I don't remember the bag colors but in the Chicago area, the original Doritos were just plain, salted tortilla chips then they came out with the Taco flavor and after the Taco flavor they came out the Nacho Cheese (my favorite), mid 60's I think.

From what I can remember, they had only the nacho cheese. Then when cool ranch came out it was the biggest deal. Then for a long time (or NC and CR were the only things available where I was) there was nothing.

What the hell? There was a green bag in the late 70's that contained Sour Cream and Onion Doritos!!! I do not remember this at all! And, I see no info on their Wikipedia page talking about Salsa Rio flavor, which was from around 1990 or so. Around that time was also Jumpin' Jack Cheese flavor. But I remember Salsa Rio being more popular.
