I actually saw one of these!
Last weekend, while waiting to get into a haunted house that was a lot of fun. It was screened outside.
It really stunk. Sorry. Admittedly, it was (I guess?) the remake. With R. Lee Ermey and Jessica Biel.

I thought the first was alright. I had never actually watched the thing through (or paid attention to it) before watching it a few years ago. It was more cerebral/artful than I expected.
The thing I liked in the remake was where he takes the face of the boyfriend and chases after someone. Although in reality the skin wouldn't hold shape like that. But it was kind of creepy.

Has anyone ever screamed for so long, and so effectively in a movie before or after Marilyn Burns?
It's the all time greatest skeezy redneck horror show, it still has that crazy power it always had.

The original is a masterpiece. The second film from Tobe Hooper's fascinating. Those are my franchise favourites.
