I loved the content, but I wanted more.
I actually saw an A&E Biography of Andre the Giant a long time ago and it was actually better. It didn't have as much insight into the Wrestling world, but as an overall film about his life and legacy, it was done better.
I guess it felt more like a "This is how Andre and Hulk Hogan shaped wrestling" Documentary than an Andre documentary. Which is fine, but title it "From Giants to Hulks, a wrestling retrospective" or something like that.
It could have benefited from being about 30 -45 minutes longer, and more about his personal life. I quite enjoyed the segment about "Princess Bride" and Billy Crystal and Cary Elwes talking about the man, not the giant. I started thinking, "This documentary needs more of THIS!"
Though, as a wrestling fan, I enjoyed the segment leading from Andre to Hulk Hogan's rise within the documentary. However, if you weren't a wrestling fan, and just curious about Andre the Giant and his life, I can see why you might hate it.

I never knew much about Andre and when I watched the HBO doc about him I just felt really sad. It must have been so hard to live being that large and not being able to just have a peaceful walk down the street without people either approaching him or just gawking at him.
I did find the story Hogan told about Andre hating Savage and really lighting him up in the ring to be humorous.
