Arguably the two most iconic John Hughes' movies, which of the two do you prefer?
My vote goes to The Breakfast Club.

I abhor The Breakfast Club. Whiny, angsty teenagers pouting and crying about how tough they have it. UGH!
Bueler is entertaining, light and fun.

I always thought The Breakfast Club was terribly overrated. Ferris all the way.

Ferris Bueler's Day Off. It's more comedy and less teen drama.

Ferris Bueler's Day Off by far. The Breakfast Club just seemed pointless to me.

TBC
Rewatching that as an adult the first time was wild. Principal went from being a scary ironman to an empty suit.

I love them both but I have to go with breakfast club.
Why did Cameron stay friends with Ferris? I never understood that. Even today, the charm turns to smarm turns to sociopath. and then police has to get involved because people [firstly parents] are just too stupid to notice the whacko they are dealing with.
All of the kids in BC have something wrong with their upbringing. Ferris... he had two idiotic parents who didn't see what Rooney or his sister [neither character I liked] saw. Somehow he gets a computer complete with "the 80's version of internet access" and is able to change his attendance. [and then Beverly hills 90210 totally stole this when they had Steve try to change his grades!] see??? BAD INFLUENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always wondered WTF was wrong Ferris's parents. They came off like huge dolts. I find Ferris to be incredibly punchable, and believe the cure to Cameron's malaise would have been knocking him out. I like The Breakfast Club, but Pretty in Pink is my favorite Hughes film. He didn't direct that one though.

The Breakfast Club! I have both in my library, but I haven't watched either in several years, it may be time to revisit them.
