...putting ketchup (catsup) on a hot dog, is tantamount to putting that red mess on a grilled rare ribeye steak.
And don't forget, Reagan declared ketchup to be a vegetable...LOL !!!!

Chili. My first "chili dog" in the USA (NC) was a fine experience. My cousin bought some for us. It's mostly all I ate for the first three days, I couldn't get enough of them. When we went shopping for camera film (yes, it was quite a few years ago) in Walmart, I noticed they sold hot snacks and had to have a chili dog. It wasn't as nice as the ones I'd tried but still very enjoyable. I also sampled a 'corn dog' but wasn't as keen on that.
Yes, sir, the chili dog is a fine hot dog alright.

There used to be a place in East Chicago, IN that had the best chili dogs, the place was called Hot Dog Johnny's

NO, it's NOT! A hot dog is NOT a grilled medium (or rare) ribeye steak. They CAN'T COMPARE!

Chili dogs are good. There used to be a place in East Chicago, IN that had the best chili dogs, the place was called Hot Dog Johnny's Hi there, WKM! I remember you well from the old IMDB F&D board which I used to browse without really posting on - but still enjoyed your and all the other posts. Really good to see you here. I see from Google there are a couple of hot dog outlets in Chicago with Johnny in the name, including Johnny O's and Fat Johnnies's Famous Red Hots. At Johnny O's I would certainly go for the chili cheese dog ($2.79 with fries) and I'd be tempted, just for its name, to order the 'Mother In Law' ($2.89) even though I don't know what it is - Google no help on this occasion. I would also go for the jalapeno poppers ($3.95) Doh! just spotted a link on Johnny O's website explaining the 'Mother In Law' : Tom-Tom tamale served on a hot dog bun, covered in homemade chili, tomato, onions, and "sport" peppers. Johnny O's menu 'Mother In Law' video (not the best quality unfortunately) It sure looks good. Hard to find in London, I'm guessing
