Distilled water. I often put it in the freezer and drink it before it freezes solid. I want to find out the coldest temperature before water turns to ice, get water to that and drink it. Elsewhere, I drink sparkling water or Coke Zero/Diet Coke. That is the idea. I buy it a gallon at a time so it is always in a plastic jug. I put it in the freezer and then when I want some, I take it out and knock it against the refrigerator to break the ice. Very refreshing. As for sparkling water, there is not much appeal. Drink enough of that and you will get kidney stones or gallstones. Drink Rolling Rock and you get Rolling Stones.

That's the opposite of what you should drink when thirsty.

Water is almost always my first choice and on those occasions I crave something else I end up drinking water anyway because whatever I was craving (chocolate milk, beer, ginger ale, etc.) still leaves me feeling thirsty.
