He had to sit in the Lunar Module. No, It's all a hoax... Michael Collins actually "sat" inside the Command Service Module. However, that too might have been a hoax... I think he just floated around inside the Command Service Module. Too much conspiracy! I do wonder how many astronauts hated being assigned to pilot the Command Service Module, knowing that they would not be walking on the moon, while knowing that their buddies would. |

His uncle, J Lawton Collins (aka "Lightning Joe"), was an excellent WW2 general (VII Corps) who went on to become a four star and become army chief of staff.
