It’s not really controversy, so much as it is people who don’t like him digging up any piece of dirt they could find on the guy, and succeeding.
Edit: Jeez. Some of those old tweets he made are even more disturbing than I thought. This is some serious 4Chan level humor. He probably wouldn’t have gotten as much crap for these tweets if it hadn’t been for the fact that he has been trying to take the moral high road on social media these past few years, but damn.

It's because James Gunn is very anti Trump and I don't mean in a"Trump sucks lol" way. He frequently tweets about Trump and caused some controversy when he said something around the line of "Trump loves it when children die" or something to that effect. So yeah the cult of Donald are all over this. |

I’ll say this; Gunn’s old tweets were disgusting, and they paint a bad picture on him, but turning this into an excuse to claim the politically moral high ground is irritating as hell, especially given that many of these same people would’ve most likely been defending him if he was a pro-Trumper. These are the same guys who harassed an owner of a pizza joint (who isn’t even a Democrat) over those b.s. PizzaGate conspiracies, while also endorsing Roy Moore. They have no right to claim the moral high ground. |

Just read through a bunch. He apparently hated the trans community, Especially transwomen.
So....yeah... I'm curious what Marvel/Disney response going to be.
Also I wonder if his political tweets were genuine or if he was just pandering because of Hollywood.
