Yeah. I like that idea and I wouldn't mind seeing them add some parts of the comic books to it 'cause while there were a lot of parts that fans weren't particularly fond of like Stargazer pointed out I think there were also a few good parts that could be used in Live Action and I am with you in not having them ignore the events of 'Angel' and Sunnydale getting swallowed whole by the hellmouth 'cause those are pretty difficult parts to leave out if they are going to make this a continuation series to the original TV show. Also I might be one of the few but I actually enjoyed the 'Angel: After the Fall' comic books and would have loved to have seen a movie of it with Angel flying around on a dragon. I am also for having stronger vampires and I thought the addition of the Ubervamps were one of the best additions in Season 7 'cause they were heaps stronger than normal vampires and difficult for Buffy to defeat. My main question about this show is what we have been discussing on other threads about 'Supernatural' having demons in demon forms. Will the new show have demons in demon forms like the original 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Angel' had 'cause it will be kinda disappointing if they don't. Weren’t the ubervamps inspired by the Grr. Arrr monster you always saw after the show? I swear when I saw one the first time I thought it was the monster from mutant enemy productions wearing clothes and they had come to get revenge for leaving them out of the show. I may be wrong, but I would expect it was more in the vein of the old Hollywood depiction of vampires, specifically Nosferatu from 1922 movie of the same name.

You could be on to something with that Starzy but I found the similarities between the Grr. Arr monster and ubervamps to be funny as because some Buffy fanos used to joke about him being in an episode and then the ubervamp turns up and it's like shit, it's the Grr. Arr monster from the end of the show.

Huh. Never thought that before. I always thought they were based on Graf Orlock from Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens.

I mean, it seems plausible enough the figure from the production screen was inspired from that movie, and both mutually inspired the ubervamps.
On a side note, are all of us really such nerds that this board has somehow become a catch all of discussion for all things science fiction/fantasy? Not that there's anything wrong with that...

The shows are on break so we might as well talk about other things unless you want to talk about Cloak And Dagger but that’s like watching carpet get laid down. I read a Cloak And Dagger comic and they look older. Why are they so young in the show and where are their superhero costumes?

Maybe they're taking a Smallville approach?

Maybe they're taking a Smallville approach? Does that mean we are going to get sexy Supergirls and Zatannas in season 7 and 8? Ya count me in if that is what's goin' on.

Well aren't Buffy and Willow already Supergirl and Zatanna? Yes. They kinda were in a way except Buffy couldn't fly. It actually would have been pretty funny if Buffy had flying powers and with all the different powers and monsters they had on that show I am surprised they never had somebody with the power to fly.

This is kinda off topic on the 'Arrow' board but I found this on Screen Rant and thought some of you might be interested. It brings up a few things I didn't know about like the reason why the actress who played Jenny didn't return in Season 7 as The First and there were plans for Oz to be in Season 6 of 'Angel' (most likely replacing Gunn who I heard was supposed to become a vampire whether the show continued or not) but my biggest question has always been why they didn't get Ethan Rayne back. He was a very popular villain among fans and I think it would have been fun to have seen him return one last time in the final season working for or against the first and they could have even paid homage to the 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds' game by having Buffy say something like "Ethan Rayne and The First, why does this seem familiar and had Ethan say "you might be thinking of another universe" and they could have brought back Sid the Dummy for one more episode too.
I personally would have liked to have seen more of Dru and wish they had given her a soul and had her stay kinda crazy but suddenly become really smart too 'cause that would have been really funny with her. 10 Last Minute Changes That Hurt Buffy The Vampire Slayer (And 10 That Saved It)screenrant.com/buffy-the-vampire-slayer-last-minute-changes-good-bad/

My #1 would be not properly using Dracula. He should have been the Big Bad of the season, and not just a one-episode wonder. But then I am biased as I am quite the Dracula fanboy.

I got 2 questions. Why was Angel and Darla so useless in the first series of Buffy when the flashbacks made them both out to be the strongest and most feared vampires in the world and whatever happened to Luke? He was in the first 2 episodes we watched last night and then he was never talked about again. Why was he not with Angelus, Darla, Spike and Dru in the flashbacks? Did the actor rub some people the wrong way and and what's the deal with his line about vampires walking the earth after The Harvest when they were already walking the earth for centuries and vampires being the only demons? Did they forget about that later?

He was in the first 2 episodes we watched last night and then he was never talked about again. Why was he not with Angelus, Darla, Spike and Dru in the flashbacks? Did the actor rub some people the wrong way and and what's the deal with his line about vampires walking the earth after The Harvest when they were already walking the earth for centuries and vampires being the only demons? Did they forget about that later? The simplest answer of course is that they were pulling the story out of their butts and hadn't decided what their backstory was going to be, at least not extensively in the beginning; and all of that was fleshed out much later. I'm not sure there's any in-story explanation for it, at least none that I recall reading; and I've been part of some in-depth discussion dissecting the Buffyverse on the old IMDB board. The Buffy episode "Angel" where we learn that Angel was a vampire and his relationship with Darla, makes me cringe pretty much every time I watch it; and literally just did so the other day, as I've begun rewatching it on Hulu for the millionth time. And a lot of that comes down to the what really becomes incongruent as the story goes on - I mean, just the ease with witch Angel was pushed to go after Buffy.... And some of that was just the writing standards for the series in those early days; which really stepped up during season 2, although not right away. My fan theory to reconcile this would be an unseen event sometime after the original Fang Gang was last seen together; and what would be the last time Angel sees Darla before Sunnydale. I envision some scenario where Angel and the Master once again come to ahead over Darla; this time Angel wants Darla to join him for more altruistic purposes, perhaps with the thought of having her be re-ensouled, or finding a way to lose his. The Master on the other hand wants Darla back in the fold, and maybe wants Angel too; feeling that Angel's soul makes him less of a free variable. I used to have this mapped out better in my head, but now it's a little hazy, but there'd be a twist when the Master reveals that he had a soul too and it never stopped him from being this tremendous force for evil - something that resonates with Angel, that he too might still become a monster, even with a soul. It would also explain a line the Master has at some point in season 1 about his soul; which was in an episode (maybe Harvest?) prior to the episode "Angel" that established the reason he was a good vampire was that he was cursed with a soul. Somewhere along the way, Darla gets shot in the head. I think at one point I had it as the Master doing it, to demonstrate that having a soul doesn't necessarily mean anything; especially if it means hurting someone he "loves". Alternatively, I think it might be just as good, if not better, if Darla actually chose Angel, but Angel can't protect her and she gets shot by someone else. Either way, it doesn't kill her, of course, but Angel ultimately realizes that the only one who can truly help her and ensure she comes back from this at as close to full strength as possible, would be the Master; and Angel leaves Darla in his care. This would explain the difference in Darla's character during Buffy season 1 and her later (earlier) appearances, where she's still clearly a threat and a psycho, but with more nuance; that being that though she's healed, the injury still had a neurological effect. As for Luke - first, he was the Master's flunky, so he wouldn't have been gallivanting with Angel, Darla and Spike; specifically because Angel actually wanted nothing to do with the Master, living in the shadows and hiding from humans and had convinced Darla to leave with the Master. This is admittedly at odds with the Master saying Angel had been one of the best among them; and talked about him as if he had been a loyal follower at one time. Maybe the Master came to admire the "work" he did, in spite of rebuffing him and taking Darla away; he still felt a kinship being Angel's grand-sire and the carnage that all lead to. There was speculation on the old board that the actor who played Luke may have been the unnamed guest star in an account James made at a convention, of a guest star who said something to Sarah that made him and David want to "beat the living hell out of him," but it was only ever speculation.

if it's not a reboot it will be strange if they call it "Buffy". but I'm glad it's a sequel series.
Hopefully they'll ignore Season 8 motion comic and all the comics because i didn't consume those (apart from a few episodes of season 8, which sucked).
I'm kinda over my vampire phase since 10ish years back, but I will give it a try for nostalgia's sake.

I'm still going strong on my vampire phase. I'm have a big stack of vampire books on my reading table and am about to buy some Count Chocula.
