That's how the new Matt Reeves Batman trilogy will exist without Affleck, the Joaquin Phoenix stand alone Joker film will be made at the same time Leto makes another Joker film.
Wonder Woman 84 will ignore BvS. In BvS, she left mankind after Steve Trevor died, and didn't return until the events of BvS.
Now, not only did she not walk away from humanity, Steve Trevor isn't even dead.
Films CAN connect, or they dont have to. You can do stand alone trilogies, or one off stories, or be a part of the main shared universe storyline.
WB is just going to say Man of Steel, BvS, and Justice League was a stand alone trilogy. Suicide Squad is a spin off of that trilogy, and Wonder Woman is it's own trilogy not connected.
The Rock is making a Black Adam film, then there will be a Superman/Shazam! Crossover with The Rock as Black Adam, they have their DC streaming service, and a Green Lantern Corps film in the same vein as Leathal Weapon in Space.

Are you confused or am I? Are you saying WW 2 isn't connected to the first one? Either way this is all terrible.

Geez. That sounds far worse than what they’ve had so far. Yeah, I feel that they are digging themselves into even deeper hole with this decision. Things can get very, very confusing to those who just want to see a movie and even to the more casual fans. However as a fan of standalone Batman movies this can't be all bad. Just give me more Batman movies DC, please don't put other superheroes into them, thanks in advance.

DC sounds like a failing car company, trying to scrap makes & brands, only to re-issue new vehicles & brands in the exact same ways.

It's not "World's of DC", it's "Worlds of DC". There's no apostrophe in a plural.
Anyway, where are ya getting all the other 'information' from?

No, “Worlds of DC” was not announced as the official name for the DCEU By Chris Begley - July 22, 2018
By now you’ve probably seen some headlines that said “Worlds of DC is the official name for the DCEU”. That is simply not true! I’ve spoken to multiple people who were inside Hall H for Warner Bros.’ San Diego Comic-Con presentation today. Here’s what actually happened…
Warner Bros. showed a sizzle reel of DC movies and at the end it said “WELCOME TO THE WORLDS OF DC”.
That’s it! There wasn’t an announcement. It was simply a line of text at the end of a promotional video. That’s hardly Warner Bros. “announcing” or “officially rebranding” the DCEU as these articles say.
I’ve received every press release that Warner Bros. sent out today. None of them mentioned “Worlds of DC” or any kind of official name for the DCEU. The DCEU is still officially nameless.

There wasnt a planned sequel. It was supposed to be Solo WW Solo Aquaman Solo Flash Solo Cyborg All around the core story BvS/JL/JL II Once WW did so great with critics, fans, and Box Office and JL bombed, they immediately green lit a WW sequel. That wasn't the original plan. Now they are bringing Steve Trevor back with some explanation. If it would have been planned ahead of time, they wouldn't have had him dying in a aircraft explosion.

Ok so assuming this is true, I think it's an enormous mistake on their part. Do they really think just making everything even more complicated than it already is will boost ticket sales? Just focus on making the actual movies better.

There was no official announcement. 2nd, all of the DC movies AND DC TV shows going all the way back to Superman: The Movie are indeed connected. But it's not a "shared universe". It's a "shared multiverse", which has never been done before.

A multiverse is fine as long as they can be connected back to each other. That would actually be a bold move that could have some awesome movies playing with multiple universes.
But if it ends up being a fail-safe for WB to fall back on whenever they make a bad movie, then I'll be disappointed. I think right now they're just happy to be able to say, "Hey remember BvS and Suicide Squad and Justice League? Yeah, well, they pretty much mean nothing and don't exist anymore."

Lame. Desperate and lame. How will Trevor be the same age? Let me guess, somebody held him in cryostasis, brainwashed him and turned him into an assassin?

No, cryostasis and brainwashing is a lame plot that only a lame movie studio would use.

I'm good with this. It makes it more likely that someday we will get a JLDetroit movie. And a Giffen/DeMatis JLI movie. I'd also like to see films of Plastic Man Blue Beetle and Booster buddy movie the Wonder Twins Blue Devil Doom Patrol JSA with the Golden Age version of characters Green Arrow Firestorm the Nuclear Man Legion Lost
