Whoever made that analogy should be ashamed of themselves. People generally aren't ashamed of themselves just because others think they should be. Yes. Especially when these others are anti-choicers who don't give good reasons why people should be ashamed.

Another rule is the "ounce of prevention" rule. If you really do not want to have a baby there are ways to prevent yourself getting pregnant in the first place. Abstinence from sex is very certain to keep you from ever having an unwanted pregnancy. I suspect that is what might be bothering people who don't want you to get an abortion too easily. It means you are not careful about when and possibly with whom you are having sex. It does not appear to me that they are endangering your health or anyone else's. Having an abortion risks your health because it is such an unnatural act.

That's because Social Darwinists rule things at the moment and have duped the religious right into cooperating with them.

I've never come across that as being the main reason for people being opposed to abortion. Although I've probably come across people trying to insincerely refer to that as an additional reason why it shouldn't be allowed. I misunderstood your post. I thought you were saying nobody supports abortion even if carrying the pregnancy to term could hurt the woman's health. OK, glad that is sorted out.

I think someone who makes think statement does indeed care what another person's opinion is. Otherwise, they would either just do it or not concern themselves with a response if it never needs to happen. Maybe they're only concerned that you realize they're right.
