If judged by who gave the BEST performance and not on anything else, it would EASILY be Natalie Portman in Jackie. Isabelle Huppert would be the second choice.

Jackie was a waste of a movie. It seemed the only reason it existed was to showcase a performance. That is why I can't pick Natalie Portman. I'd say Emma. La La Land was honestly the only movie above that I liked (didn't see loving).

Emma Stone has this in the bag. Don't know why. She apparently is the darling of the month and will undoubtedly be forgotten after winning her Oscar.

Very obviously the winner will be Emma Stone even though I don't think she deserves the win. I don't mind Emma winning, I just don't think she deserves it. Though I have to commend the Academy because during the last 3 consecutive years they nominated performances in the Best Actress category that seemed like longshots to get a nomination. 2014: Marion Cotillard 2015: Charlotte Rampling 2016: Isabelle Huppert

Oh, I would love that! But unfortunately, I don't think that the support for Isabelle is there. There's no doubt in my mind that nearly all of the American actresses in the Academy will vote for Emma. Their votes will put Emma over the top. I think Isabelle's support will come mainly from the European members of the Academy.

I think it will be Emma Stone but if there is an upset it will be Ruth Negga.
