NBA fans - curious on your thoughts on this.
I like Love as a 3rd Banana.
That being said - do you think something is in the works here - i.e. a sign and trade?
The Cavs are going to be a mess and at the bottom of the East. Love isn't a top tier star - to me he's not even a 'Robin' to a 'Batman' - but he is a terrific 3rd Piece and he's not getting any younger.
i.e. I'd love to have him on the Sixers next to Embiid, Simmons, Saric, Fultz - to me that team wins the East or highly challenges Boston.
Covington and the Miami 2021 Pick (valuable asset - it could be high) and you can throw some other junk in too to make salaries work.
Do you see Love sticking with the Cavs?
Wouldn't it make sense to swap him and start fresh gaining assets to 'build'?

Puzzling move. I guess Love likes losing and Cleveland needs to try to sell tickets somehow.

Puzzling move. I guess Love likes losing and Cleveland needs to try to sell tickets somehow. But does 'Love' sell tickets? That's a big contract for him. Been reading 4 years for $30 mi a year and other articles/blogs have an option in there for a 5th year totaling around $150 mil. Puzzling is the right word. Which is why I think something may be up. Wouldn't you just want to 'start over' if you were Cleveland now? I.E. - gain assets - picks and young players. He's a very good player and I've always liked him. Perfect 3rd Banana to me - years upon years ago - and I love Iggy - there were rumors about the Sixers swapping Iggy to the Wolves for K-Love - always wished they pulled the trigger on that.

Sure, but it's pretty tough to move a contract like that, especially when it's attached to a guy who as you said, isn't carrying your team anywhere by himself. It looks like he's there to stay for the foreseeable future.

Granted Love may not be LeBron, PG, Kawhi - butttt - if you paired Love next to the above - how do you think they match up with your Celts? That's an intriguing war right there for the East.

Puzzling move. I guess Love likes losing and Cleveland needs to try to sell tickets somehow. Not a puzzling move. Love's stats were mind blowing when he played for Minnesota in a starless team. He is looking to do the same in Cleveland. He already has a ring and he is not overly concerned about that. He is concerned about the numbers that he would put up.

He's always been a good stats/bad team guy. I'm surprised he wants to get paid to go through the motions at this stage in his career, after competing for a championship the last few years. He's getting up there but he isn't too old to give a shit at this point. I'd still have the desire to win if I were him, but then he's never been the ultimate competitor, has he?

The championship belonged to LeBron and LeBron was the one who was competing. He was just there. Not that he was useless but he is not one of those who can raise their game in desperate situations. But now his stats are going to improve. He still has it enough in him for a couple more seasons to have good stats. Cleveland team will now sink to where their football counterparts have been in recent times.

Introducing your 2019 6th Man of the Year: Dario Saric! I always thought Dario was perfect to 'run' the 2nd unit and lead by example. He's a bulldog of energy despite his athleticism and gives 120%. Was really impressed he gained a 3 point stroke last year (although when he was cold it was ugly). I think we can pawn Cov off on them. He was All-NBA 1st team Defense this year - and like Saric - is a streaky 3 point shooter - albeit - that's his only skill on offense - catch and shoot behind the 3 pt line We can throw in the Wilson Chandlers, Muscalas, of the world - I might even consider throwing in Furkan Kormaz (Summer League 2018 Legend) along with Cov and the Miami 2021 1st Rounder with cash considerations and a heavily protected Top 20 1st that turns into 2 2nd Rounders if it doesn't convey in 2 years. I think this is a perfect fit for Love. And he's a perfect fit for 'us'.

I'm 'Processing' it right now - as we have Bird Rights to Embiid, Saric, Simmons, Fultz. Simmons Fultz Redick Love Embiid Saric coming off the bench - that is mighty tempting. That just may win The East - and give the Warriors a run for their money.

Im sorry, but theyre not gonna just "hand" Love over for your 9-10 slot guys. They will want: Covington/Fultz/Pick and probably another player. NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS. So you'd have to throw in Fultz along with that 2021 pick and covington and some "junk" on top of it. I dont see just a pick and Covington, they're gonna want a PG asset now, now they lost their PF-PG in Lebron and their PG in Kyrie. I get why Cleveland did this, Love was a beast when he was solo mode in Minnesota. I feel for Love, Kyrie and Lebron both ditched the poor guy.

Which is why they're also getting the 2021 Miami First Rounder (potentially very high), and an NBA 1st Team Defender and 3&D Wing in Covington.

I dont think they will just take the first rounder (Potentially not to be that high now, the east isnt as strong now) and Covington...for Love. Got to throw in Fultz or id say no dice.

You're getting the 2021 Miami 1st (lotto), Cov (1st Team All NBA Defense who can drop treys), Wilson Chandler, and a heavily protected future 1st (Top 20 protected) - if the pick doesn't convey in 2 years it turns into 2 2nd Rounders and Cash. Continue to play hardball for an aging vet with injury issues who is nothing more than a 3rd banana - my offer is this.......
