Not just "family values" voters, but playas can excuse that even less. You don't pay for it, and you flaunt it rather than trying to hide it.

As for the OP the family values voters are hypocrites to begin with. Most of the people who support any political party are hypocrites and uncaring about misdeeds of their chosen political party. That is politics. I guess voters who voted for Hillary couldn't justify her involvement in military interventions either. I personally have never voted in my life because I always found the politicians or their political parties to be corrupt and against my principles.

... supporting a man who paid off porn stars in an attempt to keep his extramarital affairs secret? Just curious. Most of them realize that they can’t anymore, so at this point they just stopped trying. On the rare case that one attempts to, they are embarrassed beyond belief. Christian voter tries to defend Trump!

The only thing that is to be gained out of it all is the comedy value that you get when people such as those on that abominable politics board try to justify Trump. It was not as if was not unexpected of them. Next 3 years just try to find comedy/dark satire in all this. Do not expect world to be full of people who own up to mistakes. There aren't many such people.

'family values' originated as a christian buzzword to thwart off any and all attempts by those homosexuals over there to rise above their god of light.
of course, they may win a victory here or there but overall they are losing this fight.

There aren't many such people. May I edit just a bit? "And it is more important to them that he promised to end legal abortion and illegal (Muslim) immigration." It is a matter of priorities, overlooking - blatantly, I might add - sins (that are probably 'false news' in their eyes), to get these two larger issues addressed. It happens all the time, with people who have renounced their sense of reason, and chosen faith over fact. They ignore actual evidence in favor of their faith, or tribal loyalty, and told that it is a VIRTUE to accept statements without sufficient evidence. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common human trait. I see it mostly in Christians because I live in a predominantly Christian country. This is the basic flaw that I see in any religion, political group or belief-based group. Like the people who believe in alien abductions and chips planted in their brains, they need to believe it, for whatever reason, and so ignore the fact that the doctor can x-ray someone's head and find no foreign object there. I actually knew someone like that. Bizarre lady, but I guess she had her reasons. I am so glad that I extricated myself from that 'faith over fact' mentality. So, in reference to your other thread about happiness and religion, my atheism makes me happier than when I believed in a god. I live in the real world, I deal with facts and evidence. Though it is more frightening to see the reality - case in point - that Trump is killing our democratic republic. Had he run for office back when I was young, no self-respecting Christian would have voted for him, and would actively declared him 'of the Devil'. Back then, abortion was illegal and it was Europeans immigrating to the USA who were some variation of Christianity. So his lack of family values would have made him a bad choice.

That's why he picked that creationist doofus Pence as his VP. I'm not entirely sure he could have won without him.

It's a means to the end... it's all good You are right, eddy, there is a faction that believes this is the beginning of the 'end times' and Trump will bring about Armeggedon. These folks WANT him to push the button, think it's biblical prophecy. Unfortunately, some people don't understand that now, with nukes, it can be self-fulfilling prophecy for the first time in human history.

I think even in 90s a person like Trump would not have received votes from any self respecting Christian. It has taken a total moral bankruptcy on part of millions to get him elected as the President of USA. The damage to the name of America has already been done. It is unbelievable that such a disgusting person with no morals and values can even become a leader of a country with millions. Americans pretended to believe in that joke thing called WWE as actual wrestling. Now they have believed in this joker called Trump for real. The worse thing about such a situation is that people who are involved in such things may go all the way. That is even next time core voters of Republican party may vote for Trump. So the only way to get him out would be for the neutral voters to vote against him.
