I loved the old Dallas series. It was addictive.
I liked Dynasty when it first started, but lost interest after a season or two.
I also loved Soap, which was a comedy spoof of soap operas.

I remember watching Dallas when it first started, with my mom, we only had the one TV then. Watched it on and off over the years. I really liked the short-lived recent revival series too.
Dynasty started off pretty seriously and got more and more wacky. I liked watching Falcon Crest too but every season they changed most of the cast so much you didn't recognize the show anymore. Maggie's death was pretty haunting and freaky though.

I watched Dallas with my mom. I liked the huge, open green pastures, the horses, Texas women lounging by their pools in bikinis and the scheming of JR.
I watched a daytime soap with my grandma. Not sure which one though, but I remember Meg Ryan (I came to learn many years later that that's who the actress was that I remembered) played Betsy.
She was so fresh faced and pretty. Her boyfriend was a guy named Steve and the episode I really remember is where a jealous ex kidnapped them both and locked them in a room with hearts on the floor.
When one of them stepped on a heart it made a small cupid statue on the side of a pillar fire an arrow towards the heart.
Then I also remember Betsy was in a horrible car accident, was presumed dead I think...or maybe just went into a coma. The accident scarred up her face so she was wrapped in guaze and bandages.
When they finally removed them she looked completely different than she did before!!! In fact it was a different actress.
She had needed plastic surgery to repair her face and so that's how they explained why Betsy no longer looked like Meg Ryan, who had gone on to start her movie carreer.

I watched alot of "Dynasty" a few Summers ago when I was sick over a week. It was fun. Could not get into the new one after several episodes.
As a kid in the 90's I watched "All my Children". I was too young to watch it. But I do remember the Tornado disaster epidode was a bit intense for me.
I got into "Eastenders" on PBS for about 6 years. I don't have a DVR anymore so can't record them. It was always several years behind when they played it. The last series I watched was from 2009.

Yeah Dallas was on here on Sat nights in Ireland and I enjoyed it, too young to be watching Sue Ellen with her mental problems and glasses of whiskey and JR and his womanising. There was 1 season that I really loved when there was a war, it had George Kennedy in it. Watched a bit of Dynasty too Eastenders(absolutely loved Nick Cotton) and Coronation Street near the end of the 80's

I watched All my Children and One Life to Live and just about all of the night time soaps. I also watched and loved EastEnders for several years on PBS but I lost interest when my favorite characters were killed off.
