Guy associated with which battle died in the 1850s, and dude says Fort Sumter. Time travel, did he?
I feel for him, because it was a tough question, even figuring out it was the Revolutionary War, remembering what battle started it wasn't easy.

The question was worded intricately but died in 1854 means he couldn't have possibly fought on civil war. Meanwhile, did he really know all that much about American history to wager THAT much? When he had 18 grand, he should have just wagered 200 or something. American history is too broad a subject to know everything.

Bear in mind the first round is the contestant's specialized subject - something he or she picks to be questioned on. So typically you'd get "the Golden Age of British crime novels," "the Beatles," "the life and times of Charles II." Something narrow. This dude's subject: "Geography." He bombed.

I hate the wording of some questions - the longer it is, the harder time I have figuring out what's being asked, and then they've buzzed in and answered before I'm done reading. The one about Sharon Stone, I said Showgirls because I didn't immediately understand what was being asked for.

My answer for tonight's was All My Sons. Didn't even think of Waiting for Godot.
