The only thing I saw her in was Doomsday. Which was a pretty fun flick set in a post-apocalypse Scotland.

Will she be telling Supergirl where the bathroom is since that was the character's only function BvS?

Thanks for sharing that with us Chalice. I have seen Rhona in a few roles like 'Doomsday', 'Underworld 3', 'The Number 23' and 'Sweet Home Alabama' which Beccy mentioned above and did you know she was in 'Boston Legal?' I remember her being in that and she was one of the characters who crossed over from 'The Practice' onto 'Boston Legal. This is another actor who has been announced for a big role in the next season of 'Supergirl.' 'Supergirl' Elects Brent Spiner to Recurring Season 4 Rolewww.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/supergirl-season-4-adds-brent-spiner-recurring-part-1131323

I like Brent Spiner, especially since I'm Trekkie, but he's also a good character actor. I am curious what direction they'll take him as US Vice President of Earth-38. I know they've suggested the current president there is the antithesis of Trump, and is a literal alien, but they also had Maggie's dad say the president wanted to build a wall; and I could kind of see Brent play a sort of Mike Pence analog. Something, I think, about how both Brent and Pence's stark, white hair cuts just don't look right on either of them. I mean, obviously with Brent at least, it's just what his hair naturally looks like, and I'm probably more used to him having Data's hair... I don't know. But it would be fun to see him play more of an antagonist.

Never saw Star Trek: The Next Generation or any of its movies. I'm an Original Series fan.
To me Brent Spiner will always be the scientist in charge of Area 51.

I can't say I was that familiar with his name before but after looking him up on Google I recognised him and I have seen a number of the movies and TV shows he has appeared in and I like your idea of having him as some type of Mike Pence character. I might be wrong but I have a feeling they will make it that him and the President don't get along with each other and he might even turn out to be an antagonist since the President of all people is an alien. I noticed among his recent credits he played The Riddler in the animated show, 'Justice League Action' and he was also the voice of the Silver Surfer in 'Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.' so he is not new to comic book roles. I am often surprised over some of the actors they get for the animated movies and shows 'cause I think they could be better choices than the ones they use in live action.

He's a good character/voice actor, something he didn't get to do much of on Star Trek, playing an emotionless android. If you get a chance, look up some of his convention appearances, they're usually a riot; because he tends to be very irreverent and talks about pranks played on set. He does a stellar impression of Patrick Stewart. I do get the impression though that he's not the type of actor who necessarily also a fan; he's not completely dismissive of those who likes the genre that he often finds himself cast in, and he regularly attends conventions, but I think he sees it first and foremost as a job. My guess is, because he likes doing voices and doing crazy characters, shows and movies that have more of a fantasy angle to them are going to have a natural draw for giving him an outlet for that; even if he has no idea what the story is about or who the characters are. But he still turns out a great performance. I do think I'd like to see him play a bad guy on Supergirl; he did that well on his turn as on Star Trek Enterprise, playing the progenitor to Data's inventor.

Well, it looks like he has been replaced now so we will never know what he would have been like in the role. I am guessing the character mustn't appear until halfway through the season or something with how easily they were able to replace him 'cause they are supposedly filming 'Supergirl' now and if they had filmed a lot of scenes with him in it they would have had to film them again with the other actor. It makes me wonder how often this type of thing happens and we don't know about it 'cause it is not revealed to the public and what they do when they have filmed a lot of scenes with the actor who leaves. We all know about what happened with Deathstroke no longer being able to be used by the 'Arrowverse' and I think they may have filmed a number of scenes with him that we will never see now. I never watched 'Star Trek' apart from some episodes in the original series with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy so I don't know anything about those shows like some of you do and like 'Doctor Who' I have avoided watching them 'cause there are so many seasons I think I would be completely lost if I attempted to watch them. I mean how much 'Star Trek' is there?

I mean how much 'Star Trek' is there? Not a ton, there's the Original Series of Star Trek, which ran for 3 seasons and 79 episodes The Next Generation ran 7 seasons and 178 episodes Deep Space Nine ran 7 seasons and 176 episodes Voyager ran 7 seasons and 172 episodes and Enterprise ran 4 seasons and 98 episodes. There are 6 movies featuring the original cast (The Motion Picture, Wrath of Kahn, The Search for Spock, The Voyage Home, Final Frontier and The Underiscovered Country) and 4 movies featuring the cast of The Next Generation (Generations, First Contact, Insurrection and Nemesis) Then you get into the reboot, which..... the first reboot movie was fine, and would have been better if it was completely disconnected from the original franchise instead of an in-narrative thing. Into Darkness was horrible and I haven't even watched Beyond yet. Similarly, I've only seen the first episode of Discovery, since they showed that on CBS, but I don't have All Access. I have mixed feelings about what to expect when I get it on DVD. As it stands, from a non-narrative standpoint, because of the nature of the licensing arrangement between the different parties involved (re: clusterfuck) Discovery may tease being some type of prequel series, or in some way of ties to the original series, but legally it can't; it's licensed separately and isn't part of the original continuity and it's difficult to say if it even has anything to do with the Abrams-verse movies.... I've just started re-watching Deep Space Nine on Hulu, for like the 100th time. personally I find that to be the best of the spin-off series. I started re-watching like a week or two ago and I'm already in the middle of season 3. It starts out episodic and becomes more serialized by the end of the series. I think you may very well like Star Trek; and there are a lot of strong female characters, especially between DS9 and Voyager. Not a lot of horror elements mind you, but definitely a fair share of well written stories. Same goes for Doctor Who. The history might make it seem daunting, but it's not terribly difficult to jump onto that train. I started with the revival series when it first started; I didn't know the first thing about Doctor Who, hadn't really heard anything about it (other than the Borg from Star Trek being inspired by the Cybermen). I haven't seen very many episodes of the classic run of Doctor Who; in part because there is a lot - plus some episodes have been lost, because the BBC tried being cheap and reusing their video stock, and recorded over some episodes; and I think some may have also been lost in a fire. But it's not really necessary to watch all of them, as they're not constantly bringing up facts from episodes that aired 30, 40 or 50 years ago. The history of the character isn't necessarily taken for granted, but if there is a call back to something, it's usually addressed in a way that doesn't alienate a more casual viewer. And the way the show ultimately developed to regularly change and evolve, but bringing in new actors to play the Doctor and changing the Doctor's companion regularly presents viewers with the opportunity to discover the series as the show itself takes on a new identity; not fundamentally different from what it was, yet something else - "same software, different case." The only thing you really need to know about Doctor Who would be that it's about a alien who travels about in time in a blue box that's bigger on the inside; making a big splash with the people met along the way. The Doctor has two hearts, because for someone like the Doctor, one wasn't enough. And in the moments just before death, the Doctor is able to "regenerate", effectively cheating death; something all of his people can do. And through that regeneration, his body changes form and he takes on a new appearance, his personality differs slightly, but he's still essentially the same. From the revival series, as a primer, I would recommend: Rose (S1 Ep 1) End of the World (S1 Ep2) The Unqiet Dead (S1 Ep3) The Empty Child (S1 Ep9) (You'll see a familar face in this episode) The Doctor Dances (S1 Ep10) Bad Wolf (S1 Ep12) Parting of Ways (S1 Ep 13) Christmas Invasion (S2 Ep1) School Reunion (S2 Ep3) Blink (S3 Ep10) Silence in the Library (S4 Ep 8) Forest of the Dead (S4 Ep 9) The Eleventh Hour (S5 Ep1) Vincent and the Doctor (S5 Ep10) The Doctor The Widdow and the Wardrobe (S7 Ep0) (Christmas Special) Heaven Sent (S9 Ep12)
