A very underrated and underappreciated film.
Great performances by Ben Affleck and Samuel Jackson.
Has a lot to say about lawyers and the law.

Great movie. Just shows you that nobody is working for you.

I totally agree. I remember when I first saw it in the theater I was going in thinking it was going to be an action thriller, then it turned out to be a thought-provoking drama. And that was just fine by me. I also thought it was the best movie of the year.
I love the scene in which Sydney Pollack explodes with anger at Ben Affleck for losing the legal document. Powerhouse performance by Pollack.

The tit-for-tat between Affleck and Jackson was ultimately secondary.

Ben Affleck is great at playing dbags (and yeah he was really good in Changing Lanes) . seems to come naturally for him lol.

I like this movie so much. The atmosphere is great, and I second that Pollack was very good here.

One of those mainstream movies to remind us that Hollywood is quite able to deliver above average dramas.

Sure, he's made some bone head career & life choices over the years but what actor hasn't??? I just meant he is VERY good at playing some unlikeable / douchey characters . His character in Changing Lanes (from what I remember ) was such a smug prick . Ditto on his small role in Boiler Room & Runner/Runner . He excels at certain roles imo . Also, one hell of a director!
