We mentioned Leo Genn in another recent thread. Qualified barrister, war hero, and assistant prosecutor at the Belsen War Crimes trials.

Marilu Henner, star of the TV series "Taxi" has been confirmed to be one of a rare group of persons, who possess "hyperthymesia" (Superior Autobiographical Memory) which allows her to recall almost every day of her life as featured on the CBS 60 Minutes episode of December 19, 2010.

Dude, I have an I.Q of 131, and I am no genius. All an I.Q. of 135 means is that a person is of above average intelligence. Jefferson, I looked it up and here's the deal, according to the Stanford-Binet scale: Over 140 - Genius or near genius 120 - 140 - Very superior intelligence 110 - 119 - Superior intelligence 90 - 109 - Normal or average intelligence So Ms. Newmar may not be a genius, but she has a " very superior intelligence." Graduating from high school at 15 is not something I could have done. Nor could I get a patent of any kind. So I'd be the last person to minimize any of her accomplishments, which include being the prima ballerina of the Los Angeles Opera. I'm just sayin'. . . (laughter emoticon) I think you missed my point spidey. I wasn't trying to minimise Ms. Newmar's accomplishments. Rather, I was aiming a finger at myself and saying you can have a high and still fail spectacularly. (smile) Damn you for making me spell that out.

I just watched her in "Perfect" (1985). If that is typical of her filmography I should think it must be torture for her not to be able to forget.

Apparently Marilyn was much much smarter than her screen image would suggest.

Interesting thread. Not all of the folks on the link posted below are certified "genius" types but they are all certainly in the "brainy" category. It's interesting to me seeing how many of these "brainy" women have been cast in the "dumb blond" category. Jayne Mansfield, Judy Holliday and Goldie Hawn are prime examples. Dolly Parton is another supersmart woman but I have no idea what her actual IQ is. Not all have done anything other than being actors but many are also writers, inventors, successful business persons. One of the guys in the list that really surprised me was seeing . Dolph Lundgren Seems it's not only smart women get type cast as something other than what they are. "Holds a master's degree in chemical engineering. Was offered a Fulbright scholarship to study at MIT. IQ = 160" Link to Super Smart Celebs

Interesting about William Smith and Ross Martin! Along with James Woods, Tommy Lee Jones and Jodie Foster, I've read that Sharon Stone and Richard Burton have/had genius level I.Q.s. Like James Woods and Sharon Stone, Robert Vaughn was known for his high IQ.

Way back in '36, Ginger Rogers said in Follow the Fleet, "It isn't that gentlemen really prefer blondes; it's just that we look dumber...it takes a lot of brains to be dumb."

...one more:
I have read some interesting things about the intelligence of Natalie Portman.
As for Marilu Henner, I grew up in Chicago neighborhood Logan Square as did Ms Henner and knew she attended a Catholic girls high school in that neighborhood. I knew of her back then, great looking gal.

Kris Kristofferson, though better known as a musician than as an actor, was a Rhodes Scholar. An army ranger too.
