7/10. The premise was lame, it felt like they just went with the first script written without doing rewrites. There wasn't enough focus on many of the popular characters from the show. Also, the show is famous for having celebrity guests and they only celebrities they got were Tom Hanks and Green Day.
Having said that I thought it was funny which counts for a lot in a comedy movie. I do like everything in the beginning and the entire town being out to kill the Simpsons, but I thought everything after that was stupid.

5/10 Mediocre at best and not very funny or memorable. The show should have called it quit 20 years ago, and this film should probably have been released around that time as well to tie it up when it was still good. I agree, The Simpsons movie was a disappointment, considering many of the original writers from the show were involved in it. And yes, the show has really overstayed its welcome. I couldnt believe how great some of the raving and glowing reviews that movie got back in 2007, people were claiming it to be some kind of of a damn "masterpiece". Once I saw the annoying as hell "Spider pig" scene during a commercial, I knew it was gonna be a downer. Sadly the show went from fantastic to something I do not even bother watching any longer as it has fallen so far behind that it is just a sad ghost of it former self. A Simpsons Movie out between 1995-1997 was probably the time where it could have worked much better, as the show was still on a high but by 2007 it had run its course for far too long. Incredible enough, it is still going "strong".
