hand signs and wonders
in the sky
would fill the eyes
of our
ancestral spies
pondering as they sighed
for 
just the right words
to comply.


just the right words
to step by
one more banana peel
before
losing an eye
to the next power merchant
offering the keys to
a
sweet by and by.


in the beginning was the herd
and
the innocuous words
came as
torture chambers
bleeding
from a heavenly sky.
