7/10. Overall enjoyable adventure, somewhat diluted by some cheap humor.

Wouldn't it be nice, now that most of us almost don't use IMDb anymore, to be able to rate movies on this site? My suggestion is to make a seperate board 'Rate a movie' or a subboard within the 'Polls', 'Best en Worst' or 'Film General' where people can start threads where you can rate a movie on a scale from 1 to 10. The creator of the poll or other people can, if they want to, calculate the average rating of all the votes. This way, we have some sort of replacement for the IMDb ratings for movies and we have a general view on people's opinions on specific movies on this site. We can compare the consensus on this site with the general consensus on a movie. This thread contains an example for 'The Martian'. The Martian (2015)Rotten Tomatoes: 92% (7.8 average rating) Metacritic: 80 IMDb v2.0 average: 7.9 (32 votes - updated 7 April 2017) Reminders: *When creating a rate 'X' thread, please check if someone else hasn't made a thread for that movie yet. *Please don't lock any polls. New people vote every day and if you lock a poll, they won't be able to vote anymore. People's opinions change constantly and therefore the polls are always dynamic. The link below will bring you to a Google document with all the averages for the movies in the 'rate movies' board. It also contains a 'top 100' movies. At least 10 votes are required for a movie to enter the top 100 list. It's been well over 578 days since this thread was made (931 to be exact), which means that the 'Rate Movies' section has been around significantly longer than Mark Whatney stayed on Mars (which was 578 earth days). It's even more than the longest cumultative time that anyone has ever been in space (879 days by Gennady Padalka). It's also more than 300 times longer than any real human has ever been on a celestial body other than the earth (74 hours during Apollo 17). So to celebrate these random statistics and since there hasn't been a post in this thread in a while, how would you rate 'The Martian'? I rewatched it a while ago and I was afraid it would be worse on a rewatch, but I still enjoyed it a lot and I'm sticking with my 8/10 rating.
