india is ranked number one in the world now. this could change drastically after this test series. of course, we might regain the status after sri lanka tours india later this year. How?? It is because they had played more matches at home in last 2 years and had favourable results in foreign tours in weaker countries such as SL and WI.
But they have a very mediocre batting lie up who have no technique against good seam bowling. It could be 5-0 England. Though I guess after winning the first 3 matches England will relax a bit and we can see a draw.

Didn't think Chris had it in him. To quite Geoff Boycott "Well played young man." Pretty much buried the match with that hundred. I think England have pretty decent all-rounders. The young Sam is good too.
Last match I watched because it was good. This match so one sided that I can't find any interest.

Come on England, one more. Amazing that they can wrap up the game pretty much within 3 days with all the delays. Also, India are really, really bad.

YES. Innings and 159 runs. That's a shellacking.

Excellent performance by England and they thoroughly deserved to embarrass India. They should win 2019 WC too. I want cricket to become more important in England.

Until England actually win it, I'll always expect them to fall short. There is no way India can win. Just sleep easy and in a few weeks you will be 5-0. Nothing can happen. India are a mediocre team. They can't play seam bowling. Their captain is a jerk. And they seriously are so stupid that they play players like Pandya (born for t-20 slogging) in Test cricket.
What should concern England is how to find a good and stable opener. Cook's career will be over sooner than later.

the indian batting in the 5 overseas tests this year is the worst in the last 20 years. even during the SOUTH AFRICA, ENGLAND and WINDIES tours of 1995-97, tendulkar, azhar, dravid, ganguly, sidhu all got good runs. if it werent for MALAN's kindness, our highest score in 4 innings in this series would have been 51.

pimpinainteasyIt is a bit about mentality also. In 2014-15 tour in Australia, India were losing the series badly and Ishant Sharma said we also beat Australia 4-0 at home. So these pathetic players who have no technique are also arrogant and loser by nature. I say remove this entire batting line-up bar Kohli and replace them with youngsters from India-A squad. And Kohli is pathetic captain. Too chickenshit to try youngsters. I think he plays cricketers who flatter him all the time.

KOHLI's power might reduce. certainly, the world cup team will feature more youngsters now.

Still remains to be seen how the rest of this series goes. I'm happy that England are up 2-0, but if I'm truthful, I wanted India to be more competitive than this.

We've got a Test match starting on a Saturday now? What kind of nonsense is this?

England are still in dominant position. This is a 425 runs first innings surface but don't think India are going to reach anywhere near that.

Rishabh Pant hit second ball of his Test career for a 6 Do we have another Sehwag in the making? But how would he play the pacers? Kohli n Rahane wasted golden opportunities to get centuries.

So if this is such a good 1st innings track, why did England decide to have a bowl first?

So if this is such a good 1st innings track, why did England decide to have a bowl first? It wasn't a particularly good decision as pointed out by experts like Swann and others. I think they were banking on getting in head of Indian batsmen after Indian batsmen proved themselves extremely poor under seaming conditions. That said England can still win it even if India get 370. Score 500 and get India cheaply for something 220 in 3rd innings and chase down modest total. England will likely bat at run rate of 4 per over so I see no problems with time. Advantage England. Though they should have batted and scored something like 360-5 today.
