...a ditty from boot camp, circa 1969: "This is my rifle and this is my gun. This is for killing and this is for fun." If a boot camp recruit referred to his rifle as a "gun", all troops were punished by repeating this ditty while holding their crotch in the left hand and their rifle in the right hand. Needless to say, the troop who made this indiscretion never did it again. Yeah yeah, we've all seen Child's Play 3.

" I believe the mind is the best weapon." John Rambo 1985 A mind is a great thing but If I see this in my house I want my guns ready and available. Where could you possibly live that you'd be likely to see someone dressed like that in your house?!
Some sort of horrific, shithole, third-world country that's immersed in a long, drawn out war?

And thats where we disagree. Those of you who own guns always jump to the extreme that we want to "ban all guns" and that were going to send out the gun parade, come into your houses, and physically take away all your guns! Nothing could be further from the truth. So stop exaggerating.
What we DO want are stricter gun laws and to actually enforce the exisiting gun laws.
Japan: The weapons law of Japan begins by stating "No one shall possess a firearm or firearms or a sword or swords", and very few exceptions are allowed. Citizens ARE PERMITTED to possess firearms for hunting and sport shooting, but only after submitting to a lengthy licensing procedure.

Just ONE example of a civilized nations response to guns and gun crime. Here's another:
There was a total of 8,124 gun homicides. In 2015, there were 33,636 deaths due to firearms in the U.S, while guns were used to kill about 50 people in the U.K. More people are typically killed with guns in the U.S. in a day (about 85) than in the U.K. in a year.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence_in_the_United_States
If I were the neighbor I would put up a response sign saying "So you have the guns and the first chance you get to show them off you wont? Well then fuck you for being a hypocrite." That's what my response sign would read.

No and I don't want one. Apart from the fact I find them to be extremely dangerous and scary they are illegal here in Australia.

One of my guns was stolen in 2014 and the police still have not recovered it yet. I sold the other one earlier in the year. Currently I am carrying a gun that I have borrowed from my brother who is a law enforcement officer. I have a legal permit to carry it.

No, but I wanted to learn to shoot for years now. I wouldn't mind having some around the house for protection, but my main interest is in target shooting as a hobby. I always thought it would be fun.
I've never quite taken the big league to get involved though. I never feel comfortable when I'm in a gun store. It's like walking into a club that you're not a member of. There's a lot of lingo and terminology thrown around. There's also a lot of political talk and frankly I'm not interested in that.

I'm not sure why you seem so baffled by the possibility of a home invader.

I'm not sure why you seem so baffled by the possibility of a home invader. Oh, I've heard of them from time to time...
Once in a very great while. In fact, in 50 years, I've heard of that happening perhaps a dozen times, if that.
If you live somewhere that you're likely to encounter one, you should move.

to be fair it doesnt only happen in critically unsafe cities/neighborhood. my place was home invaded once and my at the time boyfriend woke up with a knife on his throat and 3 strangers in our apartment. lets say you own a gun - what good is it to you anyway in such situation? no good.

What planet do you hail from? A civilized one where home invasion is a rarity.
And you?
