I think summers8 is accusing people of being a sock because he thinks the whole world likes the X-men movies over the MCU and is trying to lump the ones that don't into one person. He also, like the X-men movies, have no imagination so takes what others say and use it. If people say that he's the same person as others, he'll start calling them a sock in retaliation. Trust me, introduce something and he'll start saying it right after. he doesn't like it when anyone disagress with him, that's for sure. he thinks the xmen using history quotes and statues means anything. |

Thats not undercutting the drama. The teaching art line isnt supposed to be a 100% joke from Logans part within the scene. Hes looking to be serious as the parents believe hes a teacher, but the audience know different. Its like the Avengers scene where Tony Stark says hes a billionaire, genius, playboy philanthropist. Its a light relief in-joke and its clever and subtle. Not on the nose. And that Pyro quip is said at the end of the scene and Singer immediately cuts to a diffrent scene. Scene transition humour. Like in DOFP where Beast says "we have a phone book". It relieves the drama that came before, NOT during it. those jokes totally undercut the drama, just like how logan made fun of the costumes in the first movie. They dont undercut the drama. Wolverines teacher joke isnt him trying to be funny to Bobbys parents. Hes just lying but its funny to the audience. Thats clever humour. Pyros quip comes at the very end of the scene. Its not inserted in the middle to undercut Bobbys coming out. Its left undisturbed. The wolverine yellow spandex joke happens in a lighter moment. the costumes joke is right while theyre going off to fight the mutants at liberty island and they waste time to make fun of the comic costumes. lame.
nowhere in the mcu is anything ruined with humor.

Good thing mcu-xmen will be dead before it ever lived. mcu dont have any cards left. the race card was their last and it has been used. it is even worse now will the oscar bribe buy.

in first avenger the doctor tells steve that people keep forgetting how Germany was the first country conquered by the nazis and everything thinks all germans were nazis. xmen treats all germans like nazis with no nuance.
they make a joke before the big fight scene and make jokes during the fight.
mcu works great.
