It seems the suspension of message boards hasn't stopped users from posting reviews on movies. 'Kong skull island' already has 285 reviews posted.

Not a surprise. 90% of human race are mentally deficient. They also post on Facebook.

Anyone who thought getting rid of the forums would kill IMDB is an idiot....

I'm doing good without IMDb, I go to Wiki now. TV series episode lists are easier on the eye for one.
No need to go back.

I don't think any of us were expecting it to go completely belly-up after losing the message boards.

Well, the thing is, IMDb is still a good resource of information even without the boards. It makes sense for a lot of people to pop in if they just want to find general information about a film.

I tend not to use it as much anymore as I did get a lot of information from the message boards. That said when I do use it, I do enjoy not seeing the SJW nonsense all over the place.

I've still looked up who's who on imdb.com, I've added to and created list on imdb.com, and have voted on a few movies on imdb.com: Black Swan 5/10, A Cure For Wellness 9/10, Vanishing on 7th Street 6/10

Wait.....................are you saying removing the boards had zero impact? Whaaaaaaat? I mean they shut it down because there wasn't enough traffic to justify the resources the poured into it.

Anyone who thought getting rid of the forums would kill IMDB is an idiot.... Wrong. You guys were claiming the opposite, that getting rid of the message boards would INCREASE traffic, because the message boards were scaring people away. "Everyone is using IMDb's facebook page to discuss movies now".

imdb's best features were not tied to the forums. Yep. Some would just tune in to review and rate movies and shows. I heard some that do those things rarely use the forums.
But if trolls were one of the main reasons why the site decided to shut down the forums, wouldn't the mods have to worry about dealing with shills and spammers for those features too? Eh, kinda makes you wonder.

I boycotted the site and refuse to visit it. The message boards were easily the best part about the site and it was dumb as heck for them to remove them.

So someone goes there for a review and that's it. Unlike the boards where you would spend time and go multiple times throughout the day.

I only really use it now to see runtime info and filming locations, and to find out who a character was in a film that I want to find out the actor or actresses name is.
