Seriously, this movie is completely bonkers. Perhaps so, but in a good way.

That WB signed off on this is something of a miracle.

That WB signed off on this is something of a miracle. With the mega success of the 1989 film, Tim Burton was given greater creative control and it shows.

When the Penguin rode that kiddy-batcar and said "You must admit, I have played this lousy city like a harp from hell". It was so Trumpian a moment.
He made Gotham great again. Genius.

When Max Shreck (Christopher Walken) is shooting Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer) when suddenly he runs out of bullets and then Catwoman (after just being shot 4 times from point blank range) begins laughing at him.
Forget about Deranged, She was totally Psychotic in that moment.

That WB signed off on this is something of a miracle. I can't imagine the looks on the faces of the WB executives when watching the film for the first time. Well maybe my avatar would be pretty close.

This needs a rewatch. I preferred it to the first movie. Agreed! I like " BATMAN RETURNS" much more than " BATMAN" although Both really are Great Movies!

I love Batman Returns but it is a really dark and twisted film. Which I probably why I dig it.
As a kid the scene with Selena trashing her apartment creeped me out. Danny Elfmans terrific score adds to the madness.

There's quite a selection. Penguin pulling out the severed hand of Shreck's old business associate was pretty twisted.

The set designs were horrible in 'Batman Returns'. It looked so fake and staged. The 1989 movie looked more natural.

Either Selina destroying her cute stuffed animals OR the kidnapping of the children.
I remember seeing it in theaters with my older brother and 4-year-old sister.
