It's not among my favorite Neil Young songs.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

We owned finches (male and female) growing up so, naturally, I love birds. As a kid, I would put seed and water inside the cage. There were times when they somehow managed to escape while doing so and started flying all around the kitchen. I remember my father frantically trying to grab them but they were so damn hard to catch. Unfortunately, they passed away roughly five years after we purchased them. They died within two days of each other. I put them in a little box together and buried them in the backyard. I eventually found out they don't typically last that long. We never bothered buying another set, just kinda put a bird feeder outside.

It's a funny thing. While I enjoy watching birds in flight, the birds I like the best are flightless birds: ostriches, penguins, and especially kiwis. Those last little guys are so CUTE!

I'm so-so about birds. They're awfully good fried or roasted. And they can often be interesting, even beautiful creatures to observe - either in the wild or in captivity. But also they can be invasive pests that destroy crops or other foliage. I've had crows and other birds get on my roof and peck away, sometimes so loud it sounds like somebody's knocking at my door. A few times I've had woodpeckers latch onto gable vents on my house (they secure their claws onto the screen mesh) and proceed to start pecking the hell out of the nearby wood siding, causing some potentially serious damage if not stopped. To that end, I've had to rig up anti-bird netting to defeat them in those spots. And why is it that every time I wash one of my vehicles, the next day I notice a prominent splotch of fresh bird crap on it somewhere?

Yes... Mainly because they are the modern descendants of dinosaurs.

Yes. I love birds. I love looking at pictures of them and watching them outside and we have a pet parrot named Misty and she can talk.

I absolutely love birds. I have bird feeders outside year-round, and one of my favourite birds is the Barn Swallow (my username is even the latin name for the Barn Swallow ) .
I'm not particularly fond of the concept of caged birds (they should be flying free, as nature intended), but it so happens I've ended up with a cockatoo in my possession. Over the years I've taken on quite a few unwanted animals from owners who didn't want or couldn't care for them anymore. She's very cuddly, and constantly up to mischief. She's a handful, but she's a lot of fun, too.

Generally I do but I dislike their inability to clean up after having a public poop.

Sure do. Especially the exotic ones.
