For All of the Fans of the " STAR TREK" Franchise Here, They have just announced that Patrick Stewart (he also announced this as well) will be returning for a New " STAR TREK" Series which will be on CBS All-Access (just like " STAR TREK: DISCOVERY") where he will once again be playing 'Jean-Luc Picard'. That being said.....I think that this is Freaking AWESOME News!

It's a trap. He'll probably be written in an unrecognizable way like Luke in The Last Jedi.

A year ago, I would have been delighted.
Having seen what CBS thinks Star Trek should be in the Mount Everest of Shit that is "Star Trek" : Discovery... I look at this and any other approaching Star Trek show with nothing but dread.

Well, if it's free I might try it.
If it's as bad as Discovery, I'll stop trying it.

I got a whole month free from CBS All Access. I watched every episode except the last one. I couldn't watch it any more. I gave up caring about any of the characters.
It's a nicely produced show and I like the effects. I like at least one of the actors. That's about it.
Drain that swamp and start over.

So I can distill my concern about this show to one single question. When we see the Klingons in this new show... will they look like proper Klingons? Or will they look like this? If the former... great. If the latter... fuck this show.

Forgive me if I'm in the dark here, but does this mean Nero didn't erase the original TOS/TNG/DS9/VGER timeline?

yes, Kurtzman indicated this in the last weeks, but it was made official only yesterday by the MAN himself still looking the part without a toupee. The Show will take 20 years after the last TNG story (the last film Nemesis, which was as mediocre and derivative as the SW sequels) Allegedly, there are no scripts yet, and it will be very different from the old show. But it will be more upbeat than whet we saw in Discovery. Don't mess it up CBS/Paramount.
