It should be there in that it is one of the top 250 movies of all time. But I make it a rule to never give a rat's patoot about IMDb's Top 250 list.

Your thread made me re-check the IMDb's (r.i.p.) top250 list. I was surprised to see so many good movies still on it, still waiting to be downvoted by some devoted fans of generic shaky-cam spectacles featuring tights-wearing babyfaces flying over the blurry computer-generated landscapes.
Andrei Rublev definitely belongs somewhere up there on that list. Or any other such list for that matter.

What about The Mirror (1975) or Sacrifice (1986) or Ivan's Childhood (1962) Stalker deserves to be in Top 50 Solaris (1972) is not in Top 250 either Nostalgia (1983) is also cool |

Absolutely it should, and I already voted for it years ago, but lets be honest, the list of movies that should be on the top 250 list and aren't, and that are on it but shouldn't be, is quite extensive. While we are on the subject, which is everyone's favorite segment? Mine is the final part with the bell casting. |

Well, considering imdb is rife with the very same practice devoted to movies that are pure garbage, any shenanigans coming from this site to help a movie's votes is merely conforming to the standard procedure for imdb top 250. The difference being that it is a more deserving film than over half of the existing ones on their list. Besides, 10 could be a accurate value for this film to some people. I may have given it either an 8 or 9 many years ago, but I can easily accept people giving it a 10. . |
