I actually have felt that way about Domnhall Gleason. He's such a baby face good boy in his other work (Ex Machina, About Time, that Black Mirror episode) that he feels like an entirely different actor as Hux. Guess he's good.

He's such a baby face good boy in his other work (Ex Machina, About Time, that Black Mirror episode) that he feels like an entirely different actor as Hux. Guess he's good. I think he is terrible in The Force Awakens, but pretty good in TLJ. There is a dark humor to the way he plays it in the latter and he just became better at selling it in the that movie. He is now typecast a lot as very uptight and unlikable characters, which is too bad.

It seemed like everyone realized the character sucked so they had him play it as self-parody. That sucks. Like I said, in everything else I've seen him in he's a boyscout whuch makes his SW character kinda jarring.

I was getting a twisted delight knowing that most fans of TFA would likely hate the movie.
