Post some photos of your favorite classic movie villains! Mean old Mr. Potter (Lionel Barrymore) It's A Wonderful Life (1946), what a meanie he was! Jimmy S should have chinned him. I wanted him to kick his ass too, but it wasn't that kind of movie.

Sorry, but I would not describe this guy as a villain. Batshit crazy for sure, and not the sort of leader I would ever want to serve under, but not a villain, even he did more harm than many who were.

Sniveling little weasel with the unfortunate name of Percy Wetmore. played by Doug Hutchison in THE GREEN MILE My choice for the worst here. This actor has a lot of credits but I cannot recall having noticed him in anything else. I think his anonymity (to me) is part of the reason he is so disturbingly loathsome. I do not have a voice in my head reassuring me "Don't get too upset, London, he is just an actor". Because I do not "see" him as an actor he is like a real person and his deeds are like real deeds.

And in the end, he gets away with the $8000 he stole, with no personal repercussions. It's called "capitalism".

You can definitely make a good case for him and Norman Bates as not being villains at all. I can understand where you are coming from.
That said it is very much like some people not including psychological thrillers in horror category and some people including them. The man's obsession led to dire consequences. Seeing from that angle he could be seen as a villain.

Raymond Burr as Lars Thorwald in Rear Window (1954) dir: Alfred Hitchcock. Perhaps the most famous of his many villainous roles. (A Scandinavian name for someone who looks totally Unscandinavian).

Great picture of an actress who played her role superbly. Nicholson had it coming to him.

Nicholson had it coming to him. Yep. You are right as always. A lobotomy and permanent vegetative state under the thumb of a psychotic control freak of a nurse certainly is just and equitable punishment for wanting to bring some happiness to others by watching a baseball game and sneaking some girls into a mental ward !
