You can say many things about the god of the bible, but one that has always struck me is that he seems to have such poor aim. True. God preferred to carpet bomb punishment onto the world as opposed to precise, laser-guided divine justice. He's still like that, according to some. Take endorsement of prayer out of schools? Well god will have a few dozen children killed! Because it's the children who took endorsement of prayer out of schools, I guess?

Because the people who wrote the bible did not know that dinosaurs existed.
I mean nobody did until the late 18th century. Unless i am mistaken but i think the first dinosaurs bones was discovered in the late 18th century.

By that argument, the Bible should have been about the Adromeda Galaxy.
As an aside, if all birds are dinosaurs, doesn't that mean the Bible discusses dinosaurs?
We've only known birds are dinosaurs relatively recently. The people who wrote the bible were not even aware dinosaurs ever existed... Which is why they didn't include them in their 'creation' myth. So if the people who wrote the Bible didn;t know dinosaurs existed, then why would they be important enough to include in the Bible? Would you like a list of all the things the Bible didn't mention? Maybe you cold pick out some other things that were important to you!

They're trying to work around that by saying the Behemoth and Leviathan were dinosaurs. That's horseshit. Just like this entire thread.

How did Noah fit all those dinosaurs on the ark?

They must've really pissed off god, so he probably didn't even want to give them a mention. I mean, God threw an exploding rock at the planet in order to get rid of them. You can say many things about the god of the bible, but one that has always struck me is that he seems to have such poor aim.

Was that really necessary?

Well, I'm no Bible scholar, but, the answer might have to do with the fact that, according to paleontologists, dinosaurs had been extinct for at least a million years, by the time humans evolved from primates. *65 Million years Thank you.

Information about dinosaurs has no value. It has no use. People who think they should get better jobs or more pay simply because they are aware of evidence of dinosaurs are mistaken. That's not a job skill. That's just trivia. You might get a higher score on the TV game show Jeopardy, that's all.
That changes can occur is species over time is somewhat more interesting and helpful in planning things, but that information is in the Bible. Read how Jacob modified the flocks of Laban in the book of Genesis.

The people who wrote the bible never saw dinosaurs or their fossils. They didn't know about the existence of dinosaurs. No reason God would have revealed anything about them to those people (any more than he would have revealed other extinct creatures).

No reason God would have revealed anything about them to those people (any more than he would have revealed other extinct creatures). But didn't God create all living things (species) at the same time? And aren't the fossils of dinosaurs located all over the world? So doesn't that mean that the people would have seen dinosaurs? And didn't Noah put a male and a female of each kind of animal on the ark?

Genesis 6Don't you find it peculiar that it was mentioned that there were giants but not that there were dinosaurs?

Made after, as in just a few days later. Creation took just a week. The dinosaurs didn't go extinct just a day or two after they were created. They were still around when people were supposedly created.

The giant thing I can't explain, but I don't believe it was literally only a week. I'd imagine each 'day' is an era that could have lasted many thousands or millions of years. Not how we'd define day.

Because it is not a biology book or a manual for classification of birds.
