Which version of Robocop do you prefer? There's very little difference between the two. The unrated cut is about a minute longer with extra violence to it. But I was curious if anyone had a preference between the two.

Seeings there is little difference I would go with the directors original vision before he was forced to trim

Dear God, didn't the theatrical have enough violence already?

Hmm I knew about the cuts and wondered about what was missing for years. When I finally saw it, I think the additional Ed-209 stuff is good, but not sure the additional Murphy footage adds much. That was a tough scene as it was in 1987.

The original cut.. The additional scenes only further illustrate Verhoeven's unbecoming penchant for excessive violence. The boardroom slaughter of Mr. Kinny, in particular, is ugly and stoopid.
Bob..save some for me.

As you said, the differences are slight but I would go with the Director's Cut.
The even more exaggerated death of Kinney works better with the two punchlines in the scene ("Somebody wanna call a goddamn paramedic?" and "Dick, I'm very disappointed") on a comedic level and the longer and more graphic scenes of Murphy being killed makes the villains seem even more detestable.
Though I suppose if you can't stomach excessive gore, just stick with the Theatrical Cut. You don't miss out on all that much.

The only other additions I remember are a close-up of Bobby's bullet wound as he gets shot and a closer shot of Boddicker's spraying neck wound after getting stabbed.
As I've said, most of the extra stuff is pretty much more violence to the violent scenes.
