Philadelphia 76ers first round pick Zhaire Smith has suffered a 'Jones Fracture' - this is the injury Ben Simmons missed an entire season with. Noel, Embiid, Simmons, Fultz, Oak to an extent ...... Let's hide this kid for a year and polish him up a bit so he can work on his game. You crafty devils you.

Uh huh, that's exactly what's going on. All hail the never ending process!

Or maybe the Sixers just have the worst medical staff on the planet? I guarantee that this injury lasts even longer than predicted.

Someone please even attempt to find a worse medical staff in sports. I dare you. This staff could take a sprained ankle and make a player miss three seasons.

Simmons missing the entirety of his rookie season and Embiid his second was just part of the tank. They could have played but why bother if it got them a better lottery pick? As for Smith, whatever, how much would he have contributed anyway?

The Mets are a worthy adversary for this dubious title.

We aren't talking about 8 year vets sitting out two months to improve their draft chances; you're suggesting the team told two potentially all time great players to sit for a year. Think of how that affects their career numbers and their legacy as players. What a shitty thing to do to your young superstars. I'll never understand the logic behind the process. The Celtics built a contender without becoming a laughing stock for half a decade. Hell, the Warriors built a dynasty from nothing without deliberately tanking. It's about putting the right team together with shrewd moves and solid draft picks. You don't need to deliberately torture your fans for years on end, in order to field a competitive team down the road. 'The process' is just an executive admitting he has no idea how to put a team together, so he's going to tank over and over again to get the highest possible draft picks year after year. That way he doesn't have to bother with player evaluation, he'll let the market set itself and take the guy everyone else is hyping up. "I have to get lucky sooner or later, right?" I'm not being facetious when I commend you guys (Philly fans) for staying positive throughout this entire ordeal. I would've been begging for Hinkie's firing ages before he was let go. And I certainly wouldn't have accepted superstars sitting out entire seasons in the hopes of yet another lottery pick that may not be the difference maker the team needs (Fultz, for example).

Well, that’s just my opinion on what happened but they babied the two of them, especially Embiid. Simmons I’m sure could have played if there was anything to play for besides experience. Speaking only for myself, on the one hand the process netted us Simmons and Embiid and, if he can get his head right, Fultz. But on the other hand I’m sick of the process. With James on the Lakers there’s no better time than now to get the chance to lose to the Warriors.

I 100% agree with you, but it actually DID work, which is the crazy thing. I just never want to go through it again.

I’m not going to check your posting history because I don’t care enough to.
