Disney was NEVER about being original. Everything they've ever produced was based on a pre-existing story. Even The Lion King is just Hamlet with lions. So, these "Disney isn't original enough" complaints ring REAL hollow.

I'm always down for another Tron movie. Just re-watched the original last weekend, and I like Legacy more and more every time I watch it.

So, these "Disney isn't original enough" complaints ring REAL hollow. Maybe so, but stories like Lady and the Tramp and Lilo and Stitch showed some creativity. If they want to remake a classic, fine. They aren't even doing that now, though. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the live remakes, but why only remakes and sequels? To be fair, it isn't just Disney, all of Hollywood seems to be on this trend.

They've always been on this trend. There have always been millions of remakes and sequels. The only difference now is that people complain about it more than they used to.

I didn't bitch about Kong: Skull Island, so what's the difference? 2016 was just such a shitty year for movies in general. 2017 is off to a better start at least.

I thought 2016 was an excellent year for movies. It got better towards the end. The summer was a big disappointment for me.

I'm not sure how. I liked most of what I saw in theaters around that time. Civil War and such.

While I'll admit to not-being a J.Leto fan in general, if sticking him in TRON with the existing cast is what it takes to jump-start the process of getting TRON3 made, then I will take it. I loved LEGACY (I got more B.B. and J.Bridges, plus we got G.Hedlund added to the cast- not to mention I thought the story was interesting), and would love to see what comes next. What became of Kevin when he reintegrated Clu2.0, what was Alan's response to Sam's change of heart about the company, how did Quorra react to the User-world, what was C.Murphy's character up to, and what about Tron now that he is blue/User-friendly again?
PS: I thought 2016 was a good year for movies that came out and being filmed. It gave us CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, need I say more?

I had heard both "Reboot" and "Sequel" in various articles- so I have been hoping it is a sequel. If it doesn't have Bridges, Boxleitner, Hedlund, and Wilde, I probably won't watch it. So "Dear Disney- sequel with the existing cast, please? Thanks", basically.

Well I think the director of "Legacy" said in a very recent interview Tron3 appears to have been scrapped, now this may possibly be one of those "requels"

They've always complained about it. The only difference now is the millennial generation is incapable of having a "thought" without immediately leaping on some social media and prattling ceaselessly about it.

Well, that's the thing. Ol' Bruce Boxleiter isn't getting any younger. Honestly, Tron: Legacy should have been made 10 years sooner.
