DiCaprio Best movie: Inception Best acting: Not sure. You see, DiCaprio is a very good actor and always deliver intense performances in his movies. However sometimes his portrayal of characters are interchangeable say Inception and Shutter Island imo. I always see a man in pain, a man in deep sorrow, a man of different emotions instead of the character in different emotions...hopefully you get what I mean. BaleBest movie: The Dark Knight Best acting: The Fighter (of those that I have seen) Not only does he occasionally physically transform to create characters on screen, he does so convincingly each time and displays great range with the roles he chooses. For me, Christian Bale has shown himself to be a far more capable actor

Bale. He's the voice of reason - a boy next door.

Neither. I think they are both pretentious and overrated. If I had to pick I'd go for DiCaprio though, simply because he was amazing in "Wolf of Wall Street".

I'd have to say Bale. Leo always looks like he's acting.

Probably Leo, even though I'm not a big fan.

Ultimately, I'd say Bale is more versatile, both in his performances and in his choice of movies. DiCaprio is pretty much always good, but it's all Oscar bait, and I'm getting tired of his same bag of tricks - some of which have been pointed out. Screaming, crying, scrunching up his face, a dodgy accent here and there, etc.
I don't want to sound like a DiCaprio hater. He's the guy who made me want to be an actor. But I wish he'd take more risks. Like Bale.
Top 5 of each...
American Psycho The Machinest The Fighter Empire of the Sun American Hustle
What's Eating Gilbert Grape Wolf of Wall Street Django Unchained Blood Diamond Catch Me If You Can

Leo DicaprioDicaprio has a better screen presence which makes him overall better in my mind. I always thought Bale is a bit weak here, in comparison to the big names, as he's more of a technical actor and does not have the natural charisma etc that Dicaprio and many other big name actors have. (NOTE: I am not saying he's got no presence at all but you get the gist of it ) plus, Dicaprio has been in better movies to which always helps. just in my personal opinion... Dicaprio has 4 movies amongst My Favorite Movies (i.e. My Top 186 movies) where as Bale only has one movie (i.e. The Prestige (2006) (8/10 ; within my Top 56 movies)). even my opinion aside... it's pretty safe to say Dicaprio will be more remembered long term because out of those around Dicaprio's age or younger I would say Dicaprio is the #1 and likely will be for some time to come. he's probably the closest we got to Tom Cruise (who's got THE best filmography out there and he's got great longevity to) amongst the younger generations (say under 50 years old group). My favorite Dicaprio movies... 1.The Aviator (2004) - 7.5-8/10 -.Django Unchained (2012) 3.Gangs of New York (2002) - 7-7.5/10 4.The Departed (2006) - 7/10 so while Bale only has one, The Prestige (2006), his tops all of Dicaprio's movies but Dicaprio easily has the better filmography overall.

I think Leo has the better filmography but Bale’s performance in American Psycho is on my top 10 performances of all time.

I think Leo is far better and I like Bale. Inception, The Departed, Shutter Island, The Aviator, The Revenant, and even his older films like Gilbert Grape and Romeo and Juliet. He is always fantastic in every role he plays.

I much prefer Bale. Best performance -- maybe "American Psycho" or "The Machinist".
Leo's best was in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape".
