Stay with me.
Around 1890 the industrial revolution was in full swing, trains, factories, steam engine, etc.. then in the early 1900s we invented cars, planes, evolving into radio, television, and eventually spaceships by the 1960s.
From cars to spaceships in 50 years.
Then from 1970 - present day we have only advaced computers and cell phones. That's it.
Cars, house hold appliances, homes, etc... They have only been improved by computer tech, no other way.
If we are distracted by cell phones, Kindles, tablets, media, etc... We don't see the bigger picture.
Edit: I want to add it was the 1980s when pop culture exploded. Video games in your home, pop music, box office blockbusters, walkmans, arcades, VHS tapes, VCRs, video rental...etc. why was the focus all of a sudden ONLY on MEDIA? And has been since.
Think about it. All the 'latest' advances are in streaming tv services, internet, apps, cell phones, tablets, video games.
Cars and appliances etc are all pretty much the same since the 1980s, just add camera and computers. But the mechanics and design hasn't advanced. Why?
