After yesterday's resounding win by Tranny, and another late late winning goal by that lad Christian Doidge again for FGR, the league title in the National League is now definitely a 3 horse race...
Lincoln again tripped up last night, losing 2-0 to Boreham Wood...
FGR have top spot, and are in cracking form, having won 5 out of 6 of their last games...
Lincoln slip to 2nd place, but have 3 games in hand...
Tranmere are 3rd, with 2 games in hand...
As we go in to the final month of the season, anything could now happen, but however it pans out, I think we now know who the top 3 finishers in this season's league will be... just the final order to sort out...
Tranny go again on Saturday, in what should be an easy win against Braintree...
The game of the season will be LINCOLN CITY - FOREST GREEN ROVERS... will Lincoln win and claw 3 points back on FGR... or will FGR triumph, and stretch their league lead to 6 points? Should be a cracker... (of course, Tranmere - FGR on April 11 could be even bigger?)

I assume FGR will be road team for this match? The good thing is that FGR are a good road team. Best of luck though Lincoln are still in a good position as they have 3 matches in hand.

If we beat Lincoln on Saturday, we open up a 6 point lead on them, which nullifies two out of three of their games in hand.

FGR seem consistant - a tough thing at that level

FGR seem consistant - a tough thing at that level If we can just maintain that consistency for just one more month... As our manager Coops said in interview yesterday... FGR are just taking it one game at a time now... try to win each game as it comes, and ignore what is going on around us... PS. I bet he has a sneaky peak at the table really 😉

well the greatest manager (well one of certainly ) - Fergie allways knew the position of the club - as he picked teams based on the current position of the club - and picked them weeks and even months in advance - as long as the position of the club in the league or injuries hadn't affected things in the period in-between.
That was his style - it wasn't so much man management - or tactics - it was team selection management , which i think is very important- Yet he only thing most managers do in regards to this these days is to put as weak a team as possible in cups and try to get players out of international duty. So anyway back to your point of taking it game by game - yep I think its fine - but you should always look in to the future - because of you havet got the resources to compete in a game in the future (be it cup, new league or just a game when things are periodically/historically bad/stressed for your club) - you can be in trouble. You need to have preparations in place. If FGR go up - which you will - you need to think about the players dude. and quickly and now.

edit sorry - you are not deffo going up - i though 2 went up and others didnt have games in hand. maybe your managers approach is the best.
bUt for instance in my point London wales (rugby union club) - went under because it won a league and could have gone up at a time it couldnt maintain the commitments of going up . The irony that it would still exist if it didnt play as well as it did. It went down due to growing too fast at a time it couldnt afford to.
