BlacKkKlansman (2018, Spile Lee) In this film that adapts true events we follow Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) an African-American police officer from Colorado who successfully managed to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan and became the head of the local chapter. The film is not subtle as it shines a light on the turbulent politics of today with what was going on in Colorado in the 70’s. All the performances are strong and director Spike Lee (Malcolm X) makes the most of a smaller budget whilst transpiring is authentically to the time period. The film may be a tad bloated in the middle but finished strong. This ends up being a good film and Lee’s best since Inside Man (2006), but I doubt racists will like the film. 7-7.5

That's one hell of a weird thing to say. Who today exactly identifies as "racist?" Also, if Spike Lee is trying to compare the KKK to anything that is going on today, he has officially lost the plot.

I’ve never been a big fan so Spike Lee movies. He has a pretty spotty record with me, I like as many as I dislike from him.

Spike Lee is not a great director, I think I've only liked one film of his, Malcolm X.
Is this film anything like the old Richard Burton and Lee Marvin film called the Klansman?

No this is more of a dramedy social commentary type film. Malcolm x is his masterpiece but I also like Inside Msn, 25th Hour, Get on the Bus and Do the Right Thing.

I read Ron's memoir and it's only like 140, 150 pages. Fun read though.

saw it, was pretty good, theater was dead silent at the end followed by a round of applause the very ending does tend to send you into a numb silence of horror
