I remember Big Fish was loosely based on this premise, the main character was not concerned with danger because a witch had already told him when he would die.
He was with friends at the time and throughout their lives, they forgot.
So if this were to happen, it's possible we would only concern ourselves with it if it were imminent or far off.

This is the very first line from Wikipedia, on languages spoken in Sierra Leone, From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to navigationJump to search Sierra Leone is a multilingual country.[1] English is the de facto official language, and Krio is the most widely spoken and is spoken in different countries. Yes, I just went back there. Missed it earlier. Sorry for any confusion caused. Ok!

Definitely would want to see it in advance.
The worst thing about Death, whether you think there's anything after or not, is the pain and suffering of it. If you're lucky enough to die in your sleep or under heavy sedation, it's still nice to know it's your last night, and you can state your last words, make your last plans.
If you foresee a torturous death, it's better than not knowing how long the pain and suffering will last. Think of when you have a harsh job. When it seems it may never end, that is when it hurts most. One likes to make a "countdown". "Eleven...ten..." on down to zero. You never have to be afraid of torture, because you know when it will end.
