I'm tracking down a quote from Paul Fix, a character actor in westerns 1925-1181.
"The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory."
So far every source I've checked has a slightly different wording.
"Most people get lost in thought because ... "
"The only reason people ... "
I suppose the quote predates the internet. Has anyone here a more dependable story on this quote?
I suspect it circulated quite a bit before the internet. Another source of variation, Paul himself might have reworded it at various times.
