Look, I'm all about ethnic diversity in film. However, create NEW roles for different ethnicities. Black Panther was great. Could you imagine if they remade Black Panther as a white guy 10 years from now? Black people would lose their minds. Remake Shaft with a white guy? Make a better Alex Cross with a better director and actor. Create a new espionage franchise with Idris Elba. It's just annoying to recast a role for the sake of doing it. Female Ghostbusters, Black 007, what next? Why not CREATE new roles and new films? Loved Wonder Woman. Needed a film, never had one, and it was great. Wow. The only time diversity casting irritates me is if they are changing the race of a historical person.

Many of us are more than willing to see James Bond retire or killed off, and have a whole new character created with the identity of a Black Man or a Woman, take the franchise forward... But you and other people out there would rather force an existing white skinned character into magically becoming a black skinned one... when it's totally not necessary... And then you go around calling anyone who doesn't want to see this change happen, a racist. That's sounds like you and others have problems with white skinned people to me! |
