I had an opportunity to see it this evening, but my buddy wanted to see The Meg, which I enjoyed more than I thought I would and was going to dismiss seeing it.
Christopher Robin hasn't officially started yet in OZ and it is only advance screenings for 2 weeks, perhaps to generate WOM. It is school holidays soon, so that is when they will give it its full plug.
I was surprised when you stated you walked out, and it is not a long film either, around 1hr 45mins and you claimed you saw most of it. Watching it to the end wouldn't have done any harm, at least you could have given a more total and informed opinion then. Films and their presentations and portrayals can affect moods at times. I was just thinking this might have been the case. Until I see the film, I can't really make any insightful opinion. I look forward to hearing what you have to say Nora on films, and this one took me by surprise.
OT> I did see some movies I enjoyed more last few weeks though. I though MEG was ok but I Really Really enjoyed BlackKKlansman. Many of my friends did not.
I went into The Meg with zero expectations knowing it was going to be cheese. It was a polished B grader and I found myself enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.
I'm not so sure about BlackKKlansman. There are other films I would rather see before it. I am not a fan of Spike Lee. I am thinking of Mile 22 next week.
