I've never been a big fan of teen comedies buddy cop movies mobster movies slasher stoner comedies with some exceptions, of course. I liked some teen comedies when I was a teen. The only ones that came after my teens that I liked I can think of are Heathers, Clueless and Mean Girls.

Musicals.
Melodramas. Also any realistic dramas that deal with the everyday struggles of everyday people.
Films that try to be "philosophical" rather than tell a story. The result is almost always boring and pretentious.

Romantic Comedies are my least favorite genre, although there are exceptions that I own.

Non-stop, breathless, in-your-face action flicks.
Superhero movies (with a few exceptions).
Musicals (with a few exceptions).

Because I’m a wimp (and proud!), I hate modern horror movies. Don’t want to see anything that’ll keep me up at night. I also agree with all of maxwellperfect’s choices, 🌵 on most “philosophical” films (yes, including 2001: A Space Odyssey, which just bores me), and all of ravi02’s choices.

🌵 on most “philosophical” films (yes, including 2001: A Space Odyssey, which just bores me) Perhaps surprisingly given what I said there, 2001 is my favourite film. However, I wouldn't say that 2001 tries to be philosophical rather than tell a story. It can be interpreted as having philosophical themes, but it also has an epic and exciting story of incredible emotional power - and the philosophical themes arise inevitably from what the story is; they aren't shoehorned in. Also, since there's very little dialogue and everything the characters do say is entirely straightforward, it doesn't come across as pretentious to me. An example of the kind of film I had in mind with my previous comment would be the films of Terrence Malick.

Ill say this...
-Horror - the problem with this genre is that for a popular genre it's pretty much the worst as I feel it's largely geared toward the young crowds and it's fairly rare a movie from this genre will stand out even though it does happen. basically the horror genre is a dime-a-dozen in general.
-Comedy - this genre is largely a dime-a-dozen to as when it comes to straight comedies, ones of any real worth are difficult to come by. but basically when a comedy does stand out for me it's usually of the Drama/Comedy mixture type. but you can see others in the topic listing comedies which pretty much fall inline with my 'straight comedy' comment in that all of those random sub-genres tend to fall into either 'straight comedy' or 'drama/comedy mixture (or the like)'. basically straight comedies are a dime-a-dozen.
-Musicals - the gold standard of crap if you count this. but these are not really that popular in general so I don't really count them too much. but if you do count these, it's got to be THE genre that's most universally disliked among us males.
-Documentaries - while I watch one here and there I feel they are almost always forgettable with rare exception.
-Animation - I tend to view animation as stuff largely for kids. stuff like Toy Story etc should not be in the Top 250 as I don't consider those real movies as to me legitimate movies are ones with actual people in them.
there might be some other odds-and-ends but that's what comes to mind for now.

Rom Coms SUCK!
I also don't care for the vast amount of comedies and also horror. All seem to be full of recycled clichés.
