Any of you seen this film? If you have, what do you think of it?

I need to watch it again. Definitely the most cartoonish and slashery of the franchise, but still okay.

I saw it in a theater on 34th St, Manhattan.
The ceiling of the theater collapsed the next day while the film was being shown.
Just missed out om my chance for a big payday.

I like it, I had that poster over my door in my bedroom for years. It is a more straight forward slasher than the two before it and has a lot of unsubtle hitchcock homages but it all adds to the fun.

I remember it being odd and also my least favorite of the series (not counting the remake).

Yes, it wasn't that great but it's watchable. My least favourite besides the remake.

I like this one, cheesy as it is. It's also insanely quotable.
"Do you think I'm STUPID, DUKE??!!"

Just saw the first, original and best one. I won't bother with any sequels, TV shows or the remake. As far as I'm concerned, none of those exist.

Your loss. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ OK I'll admit that maybe I'd watch Psycho II if I just happened to come across it while channel surfing. I'm sorta curious to see what they suggest might happen next though as you know sequels are hardly ever as good as the first one and are mostly carbon copies anyway.

Well, I can't argue that any of the sequels or Bates Motel came close to topping Hitchcock's original, but Psycho II is certainly worth a look. Ditto for Bates Motel, which is one of the most entertaining horror shows in recent memory. I'm just saying, it's not all worth brushing aside.

Ditto for Bates Motel, which is one of the most entertaining horror shows in recent memory. I'm just saying, it's not all worth brushing aside. Bates Motel was great, and Freddie Highmore was genius. I felt they could have wrapped up Bates Motel in 4 seasons instead of 5. Too much segue and contrived plot offshoots that took away from what the show was really all about, Norma and Norman. They made Dylan and his insipid wife the focus of righteousness and wholesomeness and it began to teeter over into soap.
Norma began to be painful and annoying as well, as great as Farmiga was. She fought tooth and nail to get Norman committed to that nice psychiatric hospital, even going as far to marry that corrupt douchy cop Romero to do so and then she refused to commit him indefinitely because he wanted to come home to his mommy. I think this writing aspect could have been handled better and with more skill.

Psycho III is an interesting and even bizarre foray into Norman's life and mind. It was blacker than black and the film was atmospheric and very well directed by Perkins, but I think it started to lose its own plot as well. The set up and revelation at the end of the terrific Psycho II - 83', suddenly gets turned around on its head and the unremarkable and vapid Diana Scarwid as Maureen just doesn't seem to really work or connect with what the intention of her character represented for Norman. She was a bland waif and looked nothing like Marion. It's the same as Gus Van Sant casting Anne Heche as Marion in his reboot of Psycho - 98'. There isn't much screen presence, nuance, or undercurrent of sex appeal generated by either of these flat actresses, which is which Janet Leigh's excellent controlled performance in the original was able to entice Norman with.
